This occurs more to people that be working on a computer or playing games on the computer, PlayStation, Xbox, etc. Certain sitting or dozing positions can strain the muscles in the neck and the tendons of the cervical spine, the piece of the vertebral segment situated at the rear of the neck.
Stress can be a major cause of neck pain. Some neck pain can be due to mental stress, emotional stress, or physical stress too. The pain can travel up your neck and cause a headache, or it can also cause trigger points in the shoulder and trapezius muscles.
Posture and tiredness can also be a problem by sitting at the table for many hours. The moment our posture is undermined, we set ourselves up for an intense and ongoing injury, along with a host of other negative outcomes. Helpless posture weakens neck and back muscles, causing neck and shoulder pressure factor, neck and back pain, or joint damage. As the body’s safe frame tries to regain the muscles, growth occurs, which can lead to stubborn restlessness or joint pain.
Is Whiplash a serious injury?
The second issue could be a neck strain in which the muscles of the neck have been injured by some traumatic event such as whiplash. Whiplash occurs during a vehicular accident causing an unexpected development of hyper-augmentation followed by a development of hyperflexion of the neck. This result is the tearing of the muscular tissues that comprise the cervical spine and shoulders. As these muscles attach to the bones, the bones that surround the thoracic delta (made up of the clavicles and the first rib) break off.
Recovery from whiplash is usually not a straightforward cycle. This is obvious with a particularly intricate physical problem with such myriad manifestations. Whiplash can reappear at any time, in some cases even years after the fact, and can be triggered by a subsequent mishap or even neck or back/spine abuse. Many whiplash victims seek chiropractic medications, which are emphasized by manual spinal changes. The alignment specialist will do the checks and try to recognize and correct any problems that occur there.
Whiplash meetings can be both short and long-distance, depending on the severity of the injury and the manifestations introduced. Another type of treatment that is becoming more common for whiplash is yoga.
Now yoga is a typical solution for people with general back problems. In any case, it has also started to become a widespread decision for those who are also determined to suffer from whiplash. Not all postures are appropriate for neck injuries, however many yogis and specialists agree that gentle extension practices after the neck recovers can lessen the danger of long-term agony and firmness.

However, walking is an extraordinary exercise in well-being. Your posture, foot movement, gait, and use of arm movement have a major effect on your walking pace and your ability to walk briskly. Posture is the initial step to strolling with comfort and energy.

I have had a sore neck due to lots of stress at work in the past. Ever since I started working from home (because of covid) my neck pain has disappeared and the neck muscles are a lot more relaxed. Last year, however, I had a back injury and the pain travelled up to my neck. Even though my injury has mostly healed my neck still has some stiffness, and I am seriously considering yoga now. Is it best to take yoga online classes? Which exercises do you recommend for the neck?
Hi Christine,
thanks for feedback
Doing an everyday yoga exercise will improve your neck stiffness. You can always find some good yoga exercises on youtube and practice them 20 – 30 minutes a day. Here’s a link where I share 5 good neck exercises that can improve flexibility. -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQzeJ7i2Cfc
Hey, thanks for sharing this post! I suffer from neck pain from time to time due to my work. I hang above the laptop a lot and sometimes it causes neck pain and discomfort. One thing that helps me is the gym. Also, I do yoga sometimes to relieve the pain. However, I was wondering about those back and neck braces and how could they help with this. I believe if I would wear them while working, I would prevent the pain and discomfort significantly. Thanks for sharing this. I’ll be looking into this post some more!
I appreciate you stopping by. That’s good that you hit the gym and it helps you, with the neck pain.

Venche
Hi Venche,
I am SO pleased that I came across this article and your website (which looks great by the way). I have been having a bit of neck pain lately. At first, I thought it was because I was doing my sit-ups wrong and I was trying to sit up by bending my neck forward. But, I learned that I need to keep my neck straight. Then, when I lie down on the couch on the evening and put my head on a cushion, my neck starts to hurt. So I stopped doing that and I just sit up on the couch now.
But lately, my neck pain has come back a bit. It isn’t terrible but it is certainly there and maybe I need to try your recommendations here and I need to work out specifically how I am getting this neck pain.
I will let you know how I get on and if I have any burning questions or if I am still getting issues then I will get in touch with you. If that is OK with you?
Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work.
All the best,
Tom
Hello tom,
This is imperative to know, you should do some stretching before starting your sit-ups, which can help avoid pain. Before you go do your sit-ups try to do some warm-up neck exercises to increase blood flow and improve flexibility. Cause if you go immediately by starting with your exercises without stretching this can lead to pain, cause some part of your body is stiff.
